This is locksmith work on business premises: doors opened, locks and cylinders changed or repaired. It is not metalwork. Knowing that before you ring saves a wasted call.

The estates
Six estates, one town
Ibi’s industrial land covers more than 2.5 million square metres on six estates, with more than 550 companies and over 6,000 jobs. Plastics and metal treatment lead, with steel, car parts and importing beside them, and AIJU, the technology institute for toys and children’s products, works from Ibi too.

In 2017 the town hall renewed the three estate groups, with fibre, LED lighting and camera surveillance across the whole industrial area. Cameras watch the streets; the lock on your staff door is still what keeps people out of the unit.

When people move on
A new tenant, or keys that walked out with a former employee
Units on the estates change hands, and keys rarely all come back. The quickest protection is changing the cylinders on every external door on the first day: the round of every lock on a newly taken unit. If somebody has already tried the door, start with repairs after a break-in.
Many people who work on the estates come from elsewhere for a contract or a project, and rent a flat in town. If one of them is shut out at night, that is an emergency call; there is also a guide written for them.

Questions
Asked by people who run a unit or a shop
The unit will not open and the shift starts at six. Is that a booked job?
No, that is an emergency, and the phone is answered at any hour. Planned work, such as changing every cylinder after a tenant leaves, is booked for working hours.
Can you fix our sectional door or the motor of the shutter?
No. Doors are opened and locks are changed, including the cylinders and padlocks on them, but motors, springs, welding and metalwork are jobs for a door installer or a metalworker.
Who has to authorise work on a unit?
Somebody who can show the unit is theirs to open: the owner, the tenant named on the lease, or a manager the company authorises, with a document or a call from them.
Can the invoice be made out to the company?
Yes. Give the company name and tax number before the work and the invoice is issued to it, in English or Spanish. Written quotes for planned work can be asked for by email.
